Testing equipment necessary for quality control of plastic pipes

Raw materials can be controlled by physical and mechanical properties such as density, crystallinity, melt flow rate, tensile strength, elongation at break, bending strength, thermal deformation temperature, vicat softening point, melting point, impact strength, hardness, etc. The basic testing equipment required is:




1. Density tester:




The density often directly reflects the crystallinity of the same material.




For raw materials with density less than 1, density gradient tester can be used for testing;




For materials with a density of more than 1, a drainage method can be adopted for measurement. The required testing instruments are research scales and photoelectric scales.




2. Melt flow rate meter:




Melt flow rate (g/10min) reflects the flow performance of plastics. The higher melt flow rate means the smaller molecular weight, and the ratio of melt flow rate (melt flow rate) obtained by applying large load and small load at the same temperature can reflect the processing performance at a certain level. Generally speaking, the larger the molten flow ratio, the wider the molecular weight distribution of the material, the lower the shear sensitivity, and the better the machining performance.




3. Universal material testing machine and hardness tester:




The basic mechanical properties of raw materials can be obtained through tensile strength, bending strength, elongation and compression strength, and these test indexes can be obtained by universal material testing machine. And the hardness reflects the basic rigidity of the material.




4. Impact strength tester (cantilever and simply supported beam impactor). The impact strength of materials at different temperatures can reflect the toughness of materials.




5. Differential thermal scanning calorimeter (DSC)




The melting point, vitrification temperature and crystallinity of the material can be measured. These indexes can often directly determine the internal properties of materials, such as roughly determining whether materials are pp-r or pp-b simply by melting point and degree of crystallinity.




6. Thermal deformation temperature tester




The heat resistance of the material can be reflected by measuring the softening temperature and thermal deformation temperature of the material.




7. Environmental stress cracking tester.




The test can reflect the resistance of raw materials to stress cracking, especially suitable for the screening of polyolefin materials. The failure time of poor raw materials samples is less than 100h, while the time of the special materials for pipes with excellent performance is much longer than 1000h.




8. Oven, low temperature resistance and constant temperature and humidity cabinet.




Plastic materials are extremely sensitive to temperature and humidity, so it is necessary to carefully control temperature and humidity before and after testing. These equipment can preprocess raw materials according to standard requirements to ensure accurate test.




9. Sample preparation machine (injection machine, tablet press, milling machine, etc.)




The raw materials can be made into standard splines such as stretching, bending, compression and impact according to the standard requirements.
